Updates from CollegeBoard
-
Many Colleges and Universities have transitioned to a test-optional or test-blind approach with admission evaluations. Before registering for the SAT or ACT consider looking into if the schools you are interested in require test scores or not. Please note, that starting in 2024, the SAT will only be offered in a digital format. To learn more about upcoming SAT administrations please visit College Board for SAT information.

PSAT and PreACT Information
-
WLHS will be offering the Digital PSAT/NMSQT to 11th graders only on October 13, 2023. The PSAT test is for 11th graders who wish to qualify for National Merit Scholarships. Students must register and pay to take the exam and testing capacity will be limited. Please watch the ROAR newsletter for registration details at the beginning of each school year.
WLHS will be offering the PreACT to 10th graders on March 6, 2024. The PreACT is a low-stakes, testing experience for four-year, college-bound students. Score reports provide an insight into students’ predicted performance on the ACT, and include valuable career indicators. Students must register to take the exam and there is no fee. Please watch the ROAR newsletter for registration details in early January.
It is important to note that most four-year colleges and universities are test-optional or test-free, so the ACT or SAT may not be required for admission. Please contact your school counselor or preferred college or university with questions.
